{ A day in your Life } Central Coast, NSW

I haven’t blogged for a while so I wanted to do something special and ask one of my dear clients to write her experience and here it is :

Why did you choose the day in your life format

We chose A Day In Your Life format because I don’t like the look or pressure of staged photos. They seem unnatural and do not capture the essence of who you are.

Having a whole day meant we had candid and real family moments. I find those incidental moments the most special.

As the day goes on, we became more comfortable and the connection with Nadia strengthens and that shows in the photos.

It was a real day in our life.

Is it too long?

No way. It seems like it when you book but then the pressure it completely off to ‘capture the moment’ so it unfolds naturally. It might not be for everyone maybe but we loved it. We enjoyed Nadia’s company and was just a day spent with a new friend.

Are you able to be yourself with a camera pointed at your face all day?

We are camera shy. Neither parents like getting our photo taken. As the day progresses it feels more natural as you aren’t even aware Nadia is taking photos. She is just chatting to you or quietly watching and capturing. This is her special talent…aside from what she captures, it’s the ability to just slip in and make us feel like we have an old friend in the house with us.

I most liked knowing that our secret family moments would be captured forever. The ones that no one else sees. The little moments are I hold most dear.

My husband liked that we were all comfortable. That Nadia goes with the flow and we all enjoyed her company

How was the session? Was it what you imagined?

The session was great. It was a beautiful day and Nadia kindly had rescheduled because we wanted to be outdoors for most of our session.

We spent the day doing what we usually do but just had Nadia along for the ride.

It was easy to have her around. We really enjoyed it, even though I would normally shy away from a camera.

I don’t remember her ever even taking photos of us! Just having conversations with her and making lunch, interacting with the kids or walking or packing the car. Too busy going about our day to realise and she captured the magic moments.

Was it a regular Saturday?

It was a regular Saturday. Nothing set up or contrived. Just what we usually do together on the weekend.

How do you keep your photos?

In my most prized possession, the book. The book is a must. I cry every time I open it. And I will treasure it when I’m old an grey. It will never not be loved. We all enjoy opening it up and looking through.

The book is also a great present for grandparents.

We also some chosen photos as prints framed in our home.

And of course my Instagram and Facebook were flooded with them.

What would you say to families unsure about A Day In Your Life?

If they are not sure about photoshoots then this is for them. The least contrived and most like yourselves. No awkward smiles and poses. Just you and your family doing what you and your family do, but with those tiny magic moments captured. Relaxed and candid.

The investment is well worth it. I would take A Day In Your Life instead of physical gifts every time.

It is the best gift I have ever received.
